Latest News from Antigua and Barbuda

December 22, 2010... The destination of Antigua and Barbuda has a little more to celebrate this season. The editors of Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler magazines, two leading trade publications, have both included properties in Antigua and Barbuda in their eagerly anticipated annual awards list.

The Travel + Leisure January 2011 issue of the 500 World's Best Hotels, lists the Curtain Bluff Resort as one of the world's best, while Conde Nast Traveler's January 2011 Gold List includes both Curtain Buff and Jumby Bay on their rating of the world's best hotels and resorts.

According to Travel + Leisure's Editor-in-Chief, Nancy Novogrod, "This is our annotated list of the top 500 out of the many thousands of hotels listed in the magazine's World Best Readers Poll."

The Conde Nast Traveler compendium of the best hotels and resorts draws on their Readers' Choice survey and is ever-evolving.

"Being included in the World's Best Hotels by the two leading publications in the United States gives solid and reliable endorsement to two of Antigua's leading resorts and, by extension, the island of Antigua. We congratulate both Curtain Buff and JumbyBay and thank them for providing a product that meets the discriminating taste of world travelers" said Honorable John Maginley, Minister of Tourism.

Derede Samuel Whitlock, Director, USA added, "These lists are considered among most to be the industry standard. They are updated annually and are truly the global tally of the very best resorts. By having our hotels included in this list will help strengthen Antigua and Barbuda's position in the US market as we approach the start of the 2011 winter season. We are excited and proud of this important accomplishment by both Curtain Buff and JumbyBay".
